It might not seem like it but sitting all day is terrible for your body. Lack of support, poor circulation and straining can lead to a long list of future health issues. If you have a sedentary job, one that requires long hours spent at a desk and or computer, there are things that you can and should do to keep yourself safe and healthy. Purchasing office chairs, special keyboards and desks designed for prolonged, will keep you hurting less often. That isn’t all though. There are ways to avoid the risks that sitting for too long poses.
Another thing that many people often think, is that sitting for eight hours or more a day is absolutely okay as long as you exercise but according to research, that actually isn’t the case. Working out after a long day might feel good and it’s still good to do but it doesn’t reverse the affects from sitting. Standard office chairs are the worst for this, so investing in a chair that is designed well for office life is very important, however, you should still consider finding additional solutions to staying relatively immobile all day.

- Anxiety: Exercise releases wonderful chemicals that make us feel good. Staying seated for hours of the day can cause anxiety because these chemicals aren’t being released as often.
- Fatigue: Decreased heart rate makes us tired. Spending all day at the desk can cause lethargy and even irritability.

Make getting exercise throughout the day a priority. Creating ways to stay moving, or even fun games to play at certain intervals of the day will drastically benefit you and your health. You might even start to feel better by the end of the week! Having appropriately designed products like chairs and desks, is the first thing to change about your office habits. Try making health conscious food choices as well. Even standing up every 20 minutes is enough to spark the change inside of your body.
